I was initially drawn to the vessels because of their beauty and how quiet and calm they appeared to be. They sit with such intention and sureness; attributes I want in my life. These paintings are part of a personal search for simplicity, focus, and purpose, especially in today’s increasingly complex post-pandemic, over-politicized, economically stressed world. Out of the pandemic grew an enormous void in our everyday realities that led us to question as individuals our present and future, awakening a need for a more meaningful life. These paintings act as a momentary refuge inviting the viewer to take a pause and reflect.
